On May 12, at 2:28 p.m., an earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale hit Wenchuan County in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The disaster caused widespread property damage as well as thousands of injuries and deaths.

As soon as the employees of YaoYou discovered that anti-infective medicines were urgently needed, they immediately initiated emergency production to relieve the suffering of the earthquake victims. Two days later, YaoYou sent a group of people to take the medicine – worth a total of 1 million RMB – to the disaster-affected area of Mianyang.
